Project
2023 to 2024, I was lead product designer at Swiss AR startup Ostloong Innovations. There, I designed the user interfaces of multiple AR glasses, as well as their respective companion apps.
I joined shortly after announcement of the "Sirius" AR skiing goggles and the "Lyra" everyday AR glasses, for which I did UI reworks, interaction design, app design, promotional material, and hardware consulting.
Starting in late 2023, I took full design ownership for their next upcoming device, which was AR glasses aimed at cyclists. For this project, I did in-depth user testing to come up with hardware requirements and an interaction concept, designed a full AR interface that could allow for different bicycle use cases (commuting, racing, touring, etc.) and also designed a full companion app.
Involvement
I was hired as the lead product designer, working directly under the CTO and alongside a few subcontractors who had been handling design-related tasks before me. Eventually, handover from them to in-house design was completed and I took charge of all design work. With the CTO's departure mid-2023, I moved to a position directly under the CEO.
Background
At the beginning of 2024, communication with Ostloong and its founder unfortunately came to a sudden halt, and my involvement in their projects ended. The company filed for bankruptcy in early 2025.
