Two books on top of each other. The top one is open, and different calendar and notetaking pages can be seen. The bottom one is closed and a minimalist cover with the text "Michis Logbook 2021" can be seen.
Project
When buying a notebook, there are two options: either buying a pre-printed planner, or buying a blank notebook to design and sketch your own personalied layouts (“bullet journaling“). But while the former is always a compromise, the latter requires a lot of time and talent. To fix this, logbook let customers quickly build and customize planners online, and have them printed, casebound and shipped on demand.
Background
This startup project was started by me and a friend in late 2019, with two additional team members joining for graphic design and marketing at a later point. Logbook was picked up by local startup accelerator „Sandbox“ for half a year and featured in a industry magazine, but eventually came to a complete halt in late 2020 due to the pandemic and other obligations.
Involvement
My main responsibility in this project was designing the „logbook maker“, the WYSIWYG editor that allows users to create notebooks. It was built in Figma and later implemented in Vue.js.
